WHY
West High Yield Resources prioritizes Environmental, Social, and Governance excellence across the Record Ridge magnesium project. ESG is not a standalone initiative. It is embedded in how the project is designed, permitted, communicated, and advanced.
Validated in pre-feasibility work
High-purity for demanding markets
Low waste and minimum CO2 emission
Most global magnesium production relies on carbonate ores such as magnesite Mg(CO) 3 and dolomite CaMg(CO₃)₂. These ores release CO₂ during processing because carbon is built into the rock.

Our Approach
We use serpentine, a silicate ore with no bound carbon.

Outcome
Record Ridge is designed without traditional tailings ponds. Material is extracted, crushed, and hauled off-site, avoiding one of the largest long-term environmental liabilities associated with conventional mining.
Most global magnesium relies on coal-fired thermal reduction. Record Ridge is paired with an off-site hydrometallurgical pathway that replaces traditional smelting with a lower-emissions chemical extraction route.
Advanced water management and recycling are central to the project approach, reducing freshwater demand and supporting responsible resource use under provincial oversight.
Reclamation is not deferred to the end of mine life. Disturbed areas are intended to be restored progressively as development advances, limiting long-term footprint.
Development planning rooted in Rossland’s character, prioritizing land use, recreation, water protection, and strong environmental, health, and safety standards.
Meaningful relationship-building, shared prosperity, and reconciliation through ongoing dialogue with Indigenous communities, including our agreement with the Osoyoos Indian Band.
A commitment to support local priorities, including the repair and maintenance of key infrastructure and recreational facilities such as the swimming pool and arena.
More than 40 full-time, high-paying jobs at launch, with the potential to grow into hundreds of construction and long-term roles in mining and processing.
Governance at Record Ridge is grounded in public company discipline, technical rigor, and accountable oversight. That matters for regulators, communities, customers, and investors alike.
The Record Ridge project has advanced through rigorous provincial review, culminating in Mines Act permit approval. Governance begins with compliance, documentation, and accountable execution.
West High Yield Resources operates under TSX Venture Exchange requirements, NI 43-101 technical disclosure standards, and regular public reporting through SEDAR+ filings.
Board oversight, technical advisors, and external engineering and consulting partners support disciplined decision-making across geology, operations, finance, and project development.
The company’s ESG approach is practical and staged: regulatory compliance first, operational excellence second, and continued alignment with frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Towards Sustainable Mining as development advances.
